New Site Coming!
So it's been a while, a few setbacks in launching the site and products, but we should be up and running very soon, Inshallah. We have seven new products, I'm very excited about them, they smell sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo great, I'm in love!!!!!! Anyway the new soaps are Ginger Lime, Raspberry, Lavender Lemongrass, Shea, Peppermint, Calendula and last but not least, Cedarwood Sage. The soaps are really great quality, I'm really happy with them.
So right now I'm in the process or putting together the cute little packaging they'll be wrapped in, I'm trying to use mostly recycled material for a more earth-friendly touch. All good stuff, remember. And also still tweaking the website, still needs a lot of work, but here's a preview if you haven't already seen it. Lots more to come though.
Take care and come again!

Gift
Greetings,
Just a minor update, changing subtext to 'handcrafted soap' instead of 'handmade soap', since our products make such excellent gifts, I thought 'handcrafted' worked better as a gifting product. Have a great day!
Also, website launch is estimated to be near the end of May. It'll be www.albirrsoap.com, to get to this blog is www.albirrsoap.net, easy to remember, I think. ;)

New Logo
Hello again, just added the new logo today, I created a different one a few months ago but thought this'd work better. Here's the old one, I still like it, it's calm and sweet, but wanted something simpler. With the newer one I can use just the icon as watermark for my images and such. I might edit the colors to match the current logo and use it for some material, don't know for sure.

Intro Blog
As Salaamu Alaikum Everyone and Anyone,
This blog is intended for multiple purposes. First, it will keep you (and myself) up to date on what's going on with Al Birr Soap, the launch, promotions, progress, upcoming products, anything and everything. Second, it's intended to be a place where we hear YOUR suggestions for organizations or people in need who will be the recipients of our monthly charity contributions created by the combined sales during accumulated during the month. Third, it's a place to just communicate about whatever's going on and ways in which we can help. And also we want to hear from you about scents you want to see available at Al Birr Soap.
More Information:
Al Birr is an Arabic word which can very loosely be translated as Righteousness or Piety. I chose this name because it demonstrates our responsibilities as human beings and encompasses the goodness that we should be displaying in our everyday lives. It's mentioned in the Holy Quran in Suratul Baqarah, ayat 177 where Allah swt says:
It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allâh, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allâh, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of love for it, to the kinsfolk, to the orphans, and to Al-Masâkin (the poor), and to the wayfarer, and to those who ask, and to set slaves free, performs As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and gives the Zakât, and who fulfill their covenant when they make it, and who are As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.) in extreme poverty and ailment (disease) and at the time of fighting (during the battles). Such are the people of the truth and they are AlMuttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2).
Al Birr is a company where we'll be selling handmade soaps, our goal is to make available great products perfect for gift-giving or to keep for yourself while donating a portion of every sale to help out anyone we can. Our soap selections are all handmade from good quality ingredients that care for your skin and you can feel good that you're also contributing, in some small way, to others. Starting out, we'll be putting 3% of every sale in the pot and also accepting donations without purchase into the pot, I'll also be adding to it every month, Inshallah. I want to make this an enjoyable experience, the site will be great, easy to use and pretty exciting, the soaps are delicious, natural flavors, God Willing.
Not sure what else to add, but keep your eyes peeled, I'll be adding more and also introducing the logo.
Thanks for reading!
